Layers Editing?

Postby dmcgraw on Tue Jul 29, 2008 4:34 pm

I searched the User manual and web site but see no mention of layers. I export maps to layered PDFs that allow one to turn layers on/off via Adobe's usual Layers Tab accessible on the left margin. With Acrobat, the layer names and default display properties (on/off) can be edited via that layer panel.

Is this layer editing functionality available with the current Infix product? If not, any plans to incorporate it?

Hello and thanks for the post.
We do not have any layer support in the current version.
Would you be able to send me one of your PDFs with layers in it? We will take a look and see what's involved with implementing this feature in the future.

Regards,
Guy Bushnell.

Layered Map Sent

Postby dmcgraw on Sun Aug 03, 2008 4:16 pm

That would be great Guy. I've emailed you with the details on a layered PDF map you can look at.

Thanks for looking into this functionality. Seems like none of the alternative PDF editors even offer layer viewing capability so if Infix could add that and include the ability to edit layer names and set layer display properties, that would be a great way to set Infix apart from some of the others, like Nitro PDF and Nuance's PDF Pro 5.

Regards,
Dave McGraw
